Chris D. Nebe, President of Monarex Hollywood Corporation, founded in 1978, has many years of experience in the international entertainment industry as a producer and distributor.

THE EARLY YEARS

In Germany he successfully distributed 150 motion pictures by critically acclaimed directors, among them; Ron Howard, Roger Corman, Paul Bartel, Kaneto Shindo and Jonathan Demme. His greatest box-office hit was CANNONBALL, starring David Carradine.

Among the movies Mr. Nebe produced are HEARTBREAKER, REBELS, THE NAKED CAGE, ATTACK AT DAWN and THE INHERITORS, which was an Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival and, among other international awards, received the Jury Award of the Montreal Film Festival.

CHINA

For fifteen years, Chris cultivated relationships that would later put him in a position to live a life-long dream; produce films about China, in China.

As of January 2010, Monarex has produced 7 films in the MYSTERIOUS CHINA franchise:

  • MARCO POLO'S SHANGRI-LA (Telly Award for Excellence, '07)
  • MARCO POLO'S SILK ROAD

    Monarex Active Motion Picture Development:

  • LAWS OF CONCEPTION, a feature comedy.
  • THE MESSENGER - Beyond Good & Evil, written by Dennis Eugene Engleman. Set in a lavish historical setting, this is a compelling portrayal of Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, a cultural terrorist and tragic genius.
  • BODYTALK, a dance movie.

  • Chris' time in China has been spent mostly in the Golden West, which is far more rural than the industrial east, but has a history that is next to untouched.

Chris appears here with a Wudang Kung Fu Master and his four top students.

An Extremely Rare private audience with the Living Buddha of the Ta'er Monastery on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

On January 8th, 2006 Mr. Nebe was appointed the International Business Advisor to YUNNAN TV in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
On September 1st, 2006 Mr. Nebe was appointed the International Business Advisor to the Information Office of the People's Republic of China in Qinghai Province.
On January 8, 2007 Mr. Nebe was appointed International Business Advisor to the Information Office of the Provincial Government of Xinjiang and Xinjiang Electronic Media in the People's Republic of China.

    AFRICA

Chris is a globetrotter who speaks several languages and has always held a keen geopolitical interest. Many of his documentaries reflect his engagement in human rights and environmental issues.

Long before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt discovered Namibia, Chris left his footprint on the country's political landscape.

After befriending the future Namibian President, Chief Clemens Kapuuo, Nebe started backing the Herero Nation in their struggle for independence and was to be the International Advisor to the Chief.
At that time, Namibia was controlled by the South African Apartheid Regime, which strictly enforced segregation of black and white.

Most unfortunately, Chief Clemens Kapuuo was assassinated in the dark of night in the capital, Windhoek.

During his last visit to Namibia, to honor his slain friend, Chris was arrested in the Black Ghetto for breaking the curfew.

After receiving numerous death threats (one pictured below) in his hotel, Nebe left Namibia for good.

Chris follows the teachings of Confucius, who said: "Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you!" Chris is also a strong believer in harmony of mankind and nature.
