AWARD WINNER – Left Behind Children

Left Behind Children Garners A Trio Of Awards As The Pandemic Throws Light On The Psychological Health Of Children Across The Globe

Left Behind Children, the feature documentary presented by Monarex Hollywood at international film festivals, has garnered a trio of awards. The film follows the work of Dr. Xinlan Sun, CEO, of the Shanghai Hui Di Ji Public Psychological Care Center, and is a metaphor for the progress of evolution of the world, which not only affects children in China but across the globe.

Chris D. Nebe, writer and director of Left Behind Children, says: “We are very pleased to have received these awards. The film illustrates how, when separated from their parents, some of the children experience psychological challenges, not unlike what is happening during the pandemic today. That festivals and their audience where the film was showcased can recognize the importance of the film is heartwarming in these difficult times.

Forward thinking, the Chinese Government has established far-reaching financial aid programs that address the material needs of these children, while Dr. Xinlan Sun and her team address not only the psychological needs of these traumatized children, but also educate their parents, relatives and schoolteachers.”

During 2020, Left Behind Children was honored with awards: The 2020 Gold Remi Award by Worldfest Houston, named after Frederic Remington (each year, one Remi is awarded to the winner in each of the major competition categories); an award at the Moondance International Film Festival, which focuses on films with a strong humanitarian message; and the 2019 Award of Merit at the Accolade Global Film competition.

Left Behind Children is part of the acclaimed award-winning MYSTERIOUS CHINA Series broadcast nationwide at prime time on American Public Television. Left Behind Children is a Monarex Hollywood production produced by Dr. Xinlan Sun.
