Mei Xian Qiu Art Show
Mei Xian Qiu, an internationally acclaimed artist focusing on themes of race, sexuality and speech, displayed a number of her pieces at Monarex headquarters on April 15, 2018. Scores of visitors from across Los Angeles came to see her work and socialize. Free flowing champagne and live music kept the party going as guests took in the new form of photographic art Mei has been working on.
Mei hails from Java, Indonesia where anti-Chinese sentiment was strong and violence erupted. As a result her family emigrated to the United States where her father joined the Air Force and moved from place to place. Can you see her life in her art?
